Professional Biography
Dr. King became a joint faculty member in the Department of Dermatology in 1996. His primary appointment is with the Department of Medicine. Dr. King graduated from Pennsylvania State University (1961) and Jefferson Medical College (1965). He was an intern and resident, and completed the clinical component of a rheumatology fellowship in the University of Minnesota, Department of Medicine. Following two years at the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission in Hiroshima, he returned to the University of Minnesota and obtained his Ph.D. in genetics in 1975.

Dr. King has been a member of the Deprtment of Medicine faculty since 1975 and Director of the Genetics Division since 1977.  He has also been the Associate Director of the Institute of Human Genetics since 2001 and is Editor in Chief of the "Genetics in Medicine Journal".
