Professional Biography
Dr. Firkins Smith is a rural clinical dermatologist and dermatological surgeon in Willmar, MN.  She attended medical school and did her dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota.  As a general dermatologist, she sees patients of all ages with skin conditions ranging from the benign to the severe, but has special interests in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, the skin problems of transplant patients and life-threatening dermatologic disease.  Dr. Firkins Smith is passionalte about medical education and is a long time member of the Rice Memorial Hospital Medical Education Committee, a member of the MMA Committee for Accreditation and Continuing Medical Education, as well as a frequent lecturer on dermatologic topics across the state.
Dr. Firkins Smith  is a past president of the Minnesota Dermatology Society and the Mid Minnesota Medical Society.   She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Minnesota Medical Association and a previous AMA/Glaxo Wellcome New Leadership Scholar.
